Drain Cleaning Suggestions + Stagnant Nalgene water?
Does anyone have any particularly good suggestions for unclogging a drain (sink or bath)? Or for dealing with hair catchers if your landlord seems to really want them in the bathtubs?
Also, I've noticed that if I leave water in my Nalgene bottle while it stays in my room during the day it, the water changes flavors and starts to taste...stagnant for lack of a better word. Anyone else run into that problem before?

Draino seems to work well.
I notice the same with my Nalgene bottle, it starts to smell funny as well. I wonder it bacteria starts growing in the water for some reason.

Regarding unplugging drains:
Drain cleaner. Try a plunger first, though not after using any commercial drain opener. To open clogs, pour 1/2 cup baking soda down drain, add 1/2 cup white vinegar, and cover the drain. The resulting chemical reaction can break fatty acids down into the soap and glycerine, allowing the clog to wash down the drain. Again, do not use this method after trying a commercial drain opener--the vinegar can react with the drain opener to create dangerous fumes.
What do you mean "dealing with" hair catchers? If there are hair catchers already in the tubs, that's good; you will have fewer clogged drain problems. Are you grossed out by cleaning the hair out of them? Use a piece of toilet paper.
