Where do we go from here?

As I suspect you all know now, Obama has been declared the president elect. The Consulate here put together an info session/party thing in the Taj, one of the 5-star hotels in Chennai, for people to come. I'll post photos later, but a few hightlights from the CNN feed they were showing.

First, my hat goes off to McCain for a really really good concession speech. It makes me hope that Obama and he can work together on at least some joint initiatives.

Second, I was really amused when, shortly after Ohio was called for Obama, CNN's John King started playing with his electoral projections map to demonstrate that even if every single uncalled state except Oregon, Washington, California, and Hawaii went for McCain, there was simply no possible way he could win.

Also bemused by the WillIAm Hologram that made an appearance on CNN's live coverage...

Now those of us who woke up to election results have to go to work :-)
