Zuppa Toscana

As it's been a while since I posted or since I tried to cook something, it seemed appropriate to do both at the same time. We got our last package of farm share veggies this week and I'm determined to actually use a decent amount of them. To kick off the cooking and this weekend, I made a hefty supply of Restaurant-Style Zuppa Toscana tonight. A few small edits to that recipe included using chicken broth in place of half of the water and adding another pint or so of liquid. I also used half-spicy and half-sweet sausage.

I went to a big Obama rally in the Boston Common on Tuesday (and heard a great speech). Tomorrow I continue my string of consecutive weekends in New Hampshire doing stuff (canvassing) for the Edwards campaign. The day will end with Adam and I heading to a Town Hall meeting with John and Elizabeth, so that should be an interesting contrast with the Obama rally...

Charity Navigator...an interesting site to reference before giving...

I came across Charity Navigator today because I decided to sponsor a kid in Columbia through Children International - that'll teach me to be reading Obama's Audacity of Hope where he talks about actually acting on/living your values right before I walk through Harvard Square and am exposed to non-profit fundraisers my age trying to help kids in other countries...Check it out - only $22 a month to radically improve someone's life. And for the economically-minded, they're efficient with your $$!
