Snow?!??!?

Back in Boston again for the next week and it starts to snow within 30 minutes of my arrival? This doesn't bode well for Maine tomorrow/Tuesday...

Modern Medicine

I would like to point out that I just had my teeth cleaned at a dentist here for $25 which is at most roughly 1/4 the US price - I went to a super expensive place by local standards. Several things about this were cool: the TV in my exam room that I could have watch (if I didn't have glasses that were removed), the super nice facilities, and the dental resident/technican/guy who cleaned my teeth who told me I didn't need to worry about getting x-rays because it had only been 9 months - boutique places in the US make them standard if THEY haven't seen you in a year. However the coolest thing was the supersonic, water-driven, pick-like device that he actually used for the teeth cleaning and the numbing jell he put in my mouth first. And Weena told me that if I did have my X-rays done, they would be digital and the office would e-mail me copies! What the heck?!?! I went to crazy fancy dentist in Boston once because it was close to my apartment and they took digital photos, but they definitely didn't voluntarily e-mail me a copy AND they still used those metal picks that, as my dentist-guy said today "were invented in the 1800s".

So just to be clear, our medicine costs more, but is now less modern than India's...No wonder people travel overseas for medical care these days...
