So I have to say, I've managed to sleep through flights before. BUT, I've never been 30 days late to one...until today. Due to a variety of circumstances (alarm clock still on Chennai time, backup alarm failing, etc), we managed to leave our hotel way late this morning and thus had no possible chance of making our 10:15am flight to
Ko Samui. However, the really interesting stuff started happening when we noticed that the 10:15 flight had actually been cancelled...so it didn't matter that we were late getting to the airport. It mattered even less when we went to the ticket agent and she mentioned that our e-ticket was for NOVEMBER 20th. Then in a remarkably painless and amazing process, she booked us on the 12:30pm flight today without charging us anything or giving us crap. It was awesome. Also, our airline, Bangkok Airways, definitely has a free lounge that includes free wi-fi. Also awesome.
Lastly I feel a need to advise anyone traveling with Liz not to let her book plane tickets: she had a 40% success rate for her three weeks in Asia (Thailand in particular seemed to cause problems)...
